How much does a car rental cost in Montenegro?
Car rental prices in Montenegro vary depending on the vehicle class, rental duration, and season. As a general guide, in 2026 you can expect the following approximate prices per day:
Economy vehicles (Škoda Fabia, Toyota Yaris, and similar) — from 45 to 60 euros per day
Mid-size and sedans (Toyota Corolla and similar) — from 55 to 70 euros per day
SUVs (Škoda Kamiq and similar) — from 60 to 80 euros per day
Vans (Ford Custom 8+1 and similar) — from 90 to 120 euros per day
Prices are generally lower during the off-season — in May, June, and September you can expect better rates than in July and August when demand is highest.
What is included in the rental price?

What to look out for when renting a car in Montenegro?
Driver's license A valid driver's license is required, and for foreign nationals from non-EU countries, an international driver's license is also recommended.
Driver's age — most car rental companies require a minimum age of 21, and sometimes a year or two more for certain vehicle classes.
Roads and terrain Montenegrin roads are generally good on the coast and main highways, but mountain roads can be narrow and winding. An SUV is not necessary for standard tourist routes, but it is welcome if you plan to visit Durmitor or the mountain villages.
